As AI systems continue to shape society in increasingly profound ways, ethical reflection is more important than ever. This interactive workshop provides a space for participants to critically engage with both fundamental and applied ethical questions in AI.

The workshop is divided into two parts:

Part I – Foundations of AI Ethics
This first session introduces core ethical challenges posed by AI, including bias and discrimination, transparency, accountability, privacy, and the broader societal impact of automation and machine learning. Participants will explore case studies and basic concepts for thinking ethically about AI development and deployment.

Part II – Ethics in AI Research Practice
The second session focuses on research ethics in the context of AI. Topics include responsible experimentation, data ethics, dual-use concerns, publication ethics, and the responsibilities of researchers in shaping AI’s societal outcomes. We will discuss current guidelines and reflect on the ethical responsibilities of scholars, developers, and institutions.

The workshop is open to researchers, students, developers, and professionals working in or interested in the ethical dimensions of AI. No prior expertise in ethics is required.
