CuKnow Colloquium: Methods of Knowledge Generation
The colloquium 'Methods of Knowledge Generation' forms an integral part of the CuKnow doctoral programme, aiming to strengthen methodological skills, promote critical reflection on methodology, and deepen understanding of interdisciplinary processes of knowledge generation. To this end, the colloquium makes visible and critically reflects upon methodological approaches from different disciplines, discussing their transferability to other research contexts. This process can generate new research questions, approaches and collaborations. During the sessions, doctoral students present the methods they use in their research, after which they engage in discussion with their peers.
The colloquium provides a platform for intensive interdisciplinary dialogue among doctoral candidates, encouraging critical reflection on methodological assumptions, decisions and disciplinary perspectives. At the start of each semester, the colloquium begins with expert input from a specific disciplinary or methodological standpoint. This could be an introduction to a research method that is relevant across disciplinary boundaries, or a reflection on knowledge, knowledge generation, and the epistemological assumptions underlying research in different disciplines.
