CuKnow Methods Colloquium

The CuKnow Methods Colloquium opened in the summer semester 2026 with inspiring talks on the normative foundations of science and on interdisciplinary research ethics.

On May 7, 2026, Prof. Dr. Bernd Ladwig from the Freien Universität Berlin gave a lecture in TRIANGEL | Kultur | Transfer | Raum about the normativity of the sciences. He explained that science, as an institutionalized form of criticism, serves the purpose of knowledge acquisition, and that its core goal is the method‑regulated search for relevant truths.

In the second session taking place on May 21, 2026, Dr. PD Alexander Bagattini from ARRTI presented the topic “Research Ethics Across Disciplines: Integrity, Responsibility, and Emerging Questions in AI.”. He showed that research ethics is an indispensable dimension of academic practice, demanding responsibility and integrity across disciplinary borders, and that AI in particular raises new ethical questions.

Both lectures provided valuable food for thought, sparked lively discussions, and fulfilled CuKnow’s aim to convey interdisciplinary‑relevant content while creating space for reflection across individual fields.

kussionen führten, und erfüllten den Anspruch von CuKnow, interdisziplinär relevante Inhalte zu vermitteln und Raum für Reflexion über die eigenen Fachbereiche hinweg zu schaffen.
