The KIT Center for Human and Technology (MuT) will now introduce itself to new KIT employees during the Welcome Days, which are hosted by the FTU.
This event is open to all new employees and will provide an overview of KIT, including its research topics, facilities and diverse offerings. During the Welcome Day, new employees will have the opportunity to connect with colleagues and start building networks. At a marketplace, various service units — and now also the KIT Center for Human and Technology (MuT) — will present their areas of work, processes, and offerings.

Discover the world of autonomous mobility and teach your very own Duckietown robot how to drive!
Are you interested in robotics, programming, and autonomous vehicles? Then our Duckietown workshop is just right for you!
During this hands-on morning session for middle and high school students, you’ll learn
how autonomous vehicles perceive their surroundings and make decisions on their own. You’ll
program a real Duckietown robot and experience innovative robotics applications
up close.
Together, you’ll solve exciting programming challenges:
Teach the robot to navigate an obstacle course on its own.
Develop a line-following system so the robot can recognize a path and follow it.
Learn how autonomous vehicles “see,” detect obstacles, and navigate.
Gain your first hands-on experience in the fields of robotics, computer science, and artificial intelligence.
No prior knowledge is required—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment!
When? October 28 to 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where? MobiLab at Kronenplatz, Karlsruhe
Refreshments? Drinks and snacks will be provided.

The DuckieTown project will be part of the Eucor MobiLab Roadshow 2027 and looks forward to welcoming participants and visitors at all roadshow stops.

Was passiert, wenn KI im OP assistiert, unsere Stimme analysiert und Training individuell steuert? In der urologischen Chirurgie zeigt Prof. Dr. med. Dogu Teber vom @Städtischen Klinikum, wie robotergestützte Systeme und KI-gestützte Navigation Eingriffe präziser und schonender machen können. Dominik Beyer vom @FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik widmet sich unserer Stimme als Forschungsquelle: Moderne KI analysiert Gesprächsdaten und eröffnet neue Perspektiven für Psychologie und Medizin, wirft aber auch Fragen nach Verantwortung und Grenzen auf. Und schließlich stellt Professor Dr. Björn Hein von der @Hochschule Karlsruhe (HKA) mit dem RoboTrainer einen intelligenten Trainingsrollator vor, der Bewegungsdaten analysiert, Trainingsreize adaptiv anpasst und dadurch neue Möglichkeiten für eine personalisierte und wirksame Rehabilitation eröffnet.

Exponaten und Workshops. Titel der Wissenschaftsreihe ist „Zukunft gestalten:
Gesundheit für die Gesellschaft von morgen“.
Organisiert und durchgeführt wird die Vortragsreihe vom Wissenschaftsbüro Karlsruhe
der Wirtschaftsförderung der Stadt Karlsruhe.
Los geht es immer um 19:30 Uhr. Der Eintritt ist frei.

The Eucor Science Slam offers early-career researchers the opportunity to creatively present their research on stage through storytelling and performance workshops. The event series includes dates in Karlsruhe, Strasbourg, and Freiburg, followed by a grand finale on December 1, 2026.

Wie bleiben wir mental gesund in einer Welt voller Krisen, Stress und ständiger Reizüberflutung? Jan Michael Rasimus von der @Dualen Hochschule Baden- Württemberg (DHBW) zeigt in „Train Your Brain“, wie News Fatigue entsteht und wie wir durch bewussten Medienumgang Distanz zur Nachrichtenflut gewinnen. Mit einem Blick auf eine der zentralen Aussagen des Stoizismus fragt die Forscherin Dr. Anastasia August vom @Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT): Macht Tugend wirklich glücklich? Zum Abschluss laden die Diplom-Psychologin Christine Stamatis und der Diplom-Informatiker Ümit Yoldas von GoVersity bei „Stay Balanced!“ dazu ein, Stress mit interaktiven Tools und KI spielerisch zu analysieren und die eigene Woche neu zu strukturieren. Wissenschaftliche Befunde treffen an diesem Abend auf praktische Impulse für mehr Klarheit, Resilienz und Lebensfreude.
