Narges Naraghi neben Poster Narges Naraghi

AI ≠ inclusive

Narges’s PhD, hosted by the KATE Graduate School, explores the social and ethical consequences of being excluded from everyday AI technologies for people with disabilities. As reflected in the topic, the research focuses primarily on representational harms of AI, in contrast to allocative harms. This scoping is grounded in ethical AI scholarship, where social systems analysis is often described as a significant blind spot in AI research.

The study takes a critical standpoint, aiming to uncover the hidden power relations embedded in AI development and deployment. Building on this perspective, Narges will present two key contributions. First, how hidden meanings of “inclusivity” shape and sometimes undermine inclusive AI efforts for disabled communities. Second, the “enabling dilemma” of AI, showing how technologies can simultaneously empower and further marginalize disabled people.

Our STAMMTISCH is open to all - you can join and leave at any time.

Climate policy

At our last edition on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, starting at 4:30 pm, you were able to discuss with others in a relaxed atmosphere in the INTRO Café what role different political currents play in European climate policy. How entrenched are the positions? What role does science play? Does an agreement depend on the political center?

This STAMMTISCH followed directly on from the Science Bench with the well-known scientist, KIT alumnus Associate Professor ESCP Business School, Madrid campus Ivan Savin. You can find his publication on the topic here.
