Urban nature of the future: exploring change in the mobile participation lab - MobiLab station at Friedrichsplatz
MobiLab am Friedrichsplatz, Friedrichsplatz, Erbprinzenstraße, 76133 Karlsruhe
What will the green city of the future look like? At the MobiLab on Friedrichsplatz, you can playfully explore what plants, animals and ecosystems contribute to city life. You will compete against a robot to find insects, explore the city from an animal perspective and redesign the city's squares with us. There will also be information, advice, a climate quiz - and plenty of opportunity to have your say, try things out and rethink.

Die Sonne brennt, der Asphalt glüht – und unter dem Baum ist es plötzlich angenehm kühl. In dieser Führung inklusive Live-Demo lernst du, wie wichtig Stadtbäume für unser Klima sind. Du entdeckst, wie Forschende des KIT die Gesundheit von Bäumen mit Sensoren messen, wie Bäume mit Hitze umgehen und was wir für sie tun können. Erfahre, warum Stadtbäume zur „blau-grünen Infrastruktur“ gehören – und was das für die Stadt der Zukunft bedeutet.

Eucor MobiLab Roadshow (14.-19. October)

The Eucor MobiLab Roadshow 2025 started its tour through the region on May 13 in Offenburg - and we're on board! The mobile participation lab will be traveling along the Upper Rhine until October, bringing people in Germany, France and Switzerland closer to scientific perspectives on sustainability issues.
At each stop, participants can expect a varied program on topics such as urban nature, climate change management, dealing with PFAS chemicals or the future of medicine. The MobiLab promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience and invites participants to discuss solutions to the challenges of the future.
The MobiLab, a multifunctional tiny house, offers space for interactive workshops, practical simulations and exciting dialogs between science and society. After the premiere in 2023, the Eucor MobiLab Roadshow will take place for the second time and with an expanded program.
